Florida
Cape Canaveral SFS / Kennedy Space Center
Where Apollo left Earth. SpaceX flies Falcon 9 from SLC-40 and Falcon Heavy / crew from the historic 39A. East coast azimuths, droneship recoveries downrange, and a public that already knows how to watch a rocket.
KSC Visitor Complex is the simplest paid vantage. Free beaches and causeways fill up 3–4 hours before T-0. Night launches read as a second sunrise over the Banana River.

Playalinda Beach
Closest public sand to 39A. National park entry. Arrive early, bring water, expect a closure on some national-security missions.
NASA Causeway / Space View
Titusville riverfront parks. Long, clean sightline across the water. Good for Falcon 9 from 40 and Heavy from 39A.
KSC Visitor Complex
Paid viewing with bus options to closer lots on selected launches. Easiest if you have family or no rental car strategy.
SLC-4E
California
Vandenberg Space Force Base
Polar and high-inclination launches over the Pacific. Starlink rides west from SLC-4E. Fog, mountains, and a pad that photographs like a secret even when the webcast is public.
The base is closed. Watch from Lompoc, Ocean Park, or Jalama Beach. Sound arrives late. Sunset and night windows are the California signature.

Ocean Park / Surf
South of the base. Clean western horizon. Good for droneship trajectories out over the Pacific.
Jalama Beach
County park, camping, long drive down a canyon. Spectacular when the marine layer lifts.
Lompoc / Santa Maria
Town vantage, hotels, and the practical base of operations if you are flying into Santa Barbara or LA.
OLP-1 · OLP-2
Texas
Starbase, Boca Chica
The factory and the pad are the same place. Stainless tanks, high bays, chopsticks, and a gulf that eats test flights. Starship does not commute to the Cape. It is born here.
Highway 4 is the spine. Road closures are the rule, not the exception, around test windows. South Padre Island hotels plus a pre-dawn drive is the usual pattern.

Hotels, restaurants, and a long view across the bay. Safer than standing on Highway 4 during a closure scramble.
Highway 4 / Boca Chica Beach
Closest public land. Check SpaceX road-closure posts. Do not block emergency or production traffic. Heat is the real hazard.
Brownsville / SPI space-view decks
When the beach is closed, town decks and the island still see the stack. Bring binoculars for a chopsticks catch.
